With over 25 years’ experience in the industry – ‘We are large enough to have the expertise but small enough to care!’

Makamithi is the leading agricultural inputs distributor in Lower Eastern Kenya. Covering Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties.

We have a network of 6 retail branches which also act as our Micro-Distribution Centres (MDC) to supply stockists.

All branches have qualified agronomists and veterinary specialists to support local farmers, ensuring they carry out sustainable farming practices.

The team

Makamithi was set up in 1998 by Gideon and Jenifer Mangu and has been serving the farming community since.

Gideon Mangu – Director/Founder

A University of Nairobi graduate, he had a 20 year+ career in the Banking sector before leaving to set up Makamithi.

In recent years he has taken a step back from the day to day management of the business as he edges into retirement.

He is a keen golfer and farmer.

Jenifer Mangu – Director/Founder

A qualified accountant from Strathmore University.

She’s an active church leader, the National Secretary of AIC Women’s Prayer Centre and Secretary of Child Evangelism Fellowship- Kenya.

In her spare time she loves playing golf and spending time on her farm.
